August update

Lot has happened. I signed contracts for FOUR books. Two of which have gone through edits, one through a galley and both due out in December. The other two I am still waiting on edits for.

And I have redesigned my logo yet again. Gone plain and simple but I like it. And as I handwrite everything first, ok so I don’t use a quill, but close enough, it’s quite appropriate.

Here are the blurbs for the new books.

Carole of the Bells.

Carole’s secret must remain hidden at all costs. The price so far has been her home and her career. Terrified it’ll cost her even more, she hasn’t even left town or been home in years.

Idris Owen teaches at the same school as Carole. When he finds Carole in the music room after school playing the hand bells, he nicknames her Carole of the bells and convinces his reclusive co-worker to help teach his class a piece for the school Christmas concert. There is something about her, he finds intriguing, but she is hiding something. While he feels an instant attraction, he isn’t willing to allow love to enter the equation when she doesn’t trust him enough to share her past.

Secrets never stay hidden for long. When this one comes to light, everything will change.

Underneath the Christmas Tree

On her first day in her new job as Winkfield Green’s events planner Violet Noble discovers she has a mere twenty days to organise the as yet unplanned Christmas Extravaganza.

Derek Xenon is the council’s maintenance man and carpenter. When Violet turns to him for help with Christmas fayre, his first instinct is to say no. He has enough on his plate. However, he’s never one to turn down a damsel in distress. Even bossy ones with unusual requests.

But someone is sabotaging her work. Who would want her to fail and why? Will Violet’s vision of Christmas ever come to fruition?

And two new Ellery/York books.

See How They Run

The Headley Cross marathon has been run every year since it was founded in 1983, apart from the two years the pandemic ravaged the world. Now that the virus restrictions have been lifted, the race preparation is well under way. And this time for the first year is being offered as a half marathon as well as the full.

DS Zander Ellery and DC Isabel York have a hectic caseload and could well do without the squad having to run the marathon. When the marathon is threatened, they and the other members of the MIU/Major Crimes are tasked with neutralizing the threat.

As the day of the race draws near, with ten thousand runners due to take to the streets, time is running out.

And the sequel. See How They Hide. But the blurb kind of gives away too much of the plot twists for book one… so you’ll have to wait.
